First Lady Sandra F. Malone is a woman after God’s own heart who serves alongside her husband, Dr. Walter Malone, Jr. in shepherding the Canaan Christian Church. She serves as the Director of Christian Counseling and helps provide leadership to the Women of Promise ministry. Her commitment and love for the people of Canaan is undeniable and her earnest desire is to trust God completely while encouraging others to do the same.

Sandra is most noted for her gentle nature and compassionate heart. Although she prefers the background, God has called her to the forefront as a model and mentor who stands boldly declaring God’s goodness in her life.

A native of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Sandra is the fourth child of five born to the late Mildred and Thomas Fisher, Jr. She learned to trust God from an early age as she faced severe health challenges and spent endless days in hospitals. Sandra had to rely on God and the kindness of nurses to get her through lonely days and nights away from her family. Out of her own experiences, God has birthed in her a passion to nurture hurting and chronically ill children who find themselves in similar situations.

It is with the same sense of passion and calling that Sandra has devoted her life to the ministry of Canaan. While working as a full-time Christian Counselor, Sandra pursued a Bachelor of Christian Education with a concentration in Christian Counseling from Boyce Bible College in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2012 she completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University. Sandra and Pastor Malone have one son, Dr. Walter Malone, III.
